Daniel Cairns, DPM, FACFAOM

foot surgeon
Dr. Daniel Cairns grew up in Vero Beach, a small town on the east coast of Florida. He got his AA degree at Indian River Community College in Fort Pierce, Florida. Dr. Cairns finished his undergraduate degree at Florida State University (Go Noles!), receiving a Bachelor of Science Degree in Biology. It was at this time that he gave up sunny Florida for his first experience of snow. He attended the Dr. William M. Scholl College of Podiatric Medicine in Chicago, IL and received his Doctorate of Podiatric Medicine.

It was in podiatry school where he met the love of his life, Shannon. They would later marry in their 4th year of school. They were blessed to both match at residency programs in South Florida. Dr. Cairns completed his residency training at the presitigous South Miami Hospital of Baptist Health Systems in Miami, with a certificate in Reconstructive Rearfoot and Ankle Surgery. He received extensive training as a foot surgeon in advanced foot and ankle surgery, wound care, diabetic limb salvage, trauma, and sports medicine.

In residency, Dr. Cairns had the extraordinary opportunity to travel to Mexico and participate in the Yucatan Crippled Children’s Project, getting valuable hands on experience in rare pediatric deformities and surgery.

Dr. Cairns and his family hope to be very active in the surrounding community, as well as in the church they attend. Giving back  has always been very important, since God has blessed him in so many ways.

Dr. Cairns is passionate about all things sports! Ask him about anything to do with a sports topic at your own peril. He is an avid fan of everything involving the Florida State Seminoles, Buffalo Bills, Buffalo Sabres, Miami Heat, and LA Dodgers. We will see if he will convert to any Texas teams!

Dr. Cairns looks at each day as an opportunity to improve the lives of others and is proud to be part of such a wonderful profession.
